ARVADA

December 10th & 11th

Arvada Covenant is hosting our annual Christmas musical and we hope that it will again, be a wonderful piece of your holiday season. We hope that you might come and hear about the Hope of Christ through the experience of theater.

The story “Shepherds and Kings” is a present day story of a widow (Victoria Shepherd) and a waitress (Susanna King) who give each other the gift of hope in some very unforeseen ways. Set on one evening, shortly before Christmas Eve, in Mattiello’s Fine Dining (a local Italian restaurant) the colorful characters and intertwined relationships will take your heart to depths and heights through some unexpected twists, turns and surprises. And while we all have our own secret pain, Shepherds and Kings reminds us that because of God’s gift of Jesus at Christmas, we are never alone.
The show is a 70 minute musical featuring a cast of 10 principal characters and a 25 member chorus of children, teens, and adults.
Shepherds and Kings was created by: Joel Lindsey, Jeff Bumgardner, Heidi

Petack and Daniel Semsen.

We have 3 show times this year. December 10th has two shows, 3:00 and 6:30 pm. December 11 has one show at 6:30 pm. This is a free performance. We do take a freewill offering during the show. We have a complimentary dessert café available after the performance for you to enjoy with family and new friends.

A Festival of Carols

On Sunday, December 4, Wellshire hosts the annual Festival of Carols. Carols have been at the heart of Christian worship at Christmastide for over 500 years now. While originally an English song-form, many countries developed their own carol singing in the ensuing years. This year’s Festival of Carols will include carols from Kenya, Scotland, Spain, and England, plus other anthems and arrangements in celebration of the birth of Christ. All of Wellshire’s vocal choirs will participate in this carolfest, so don’t miss out.

Join us at 10:00 in the Sanctuary on Sunday, December 4, and bring your friends and family, too! Please note that there will be one service offered at 10:00 am on December 4. Education will be on recess, as will Children’s Choir.

December 11th - December 17th

WHEAT RIDGE
December 15th & 16th at 7pm

Almost There is a dramatic musical presented by Applewood’s Celebration Choir & Orchestra.

There are times when God leads us to places that seem impossible to reach and calls us to do what seems impossible to do. Over 2,000 years ago, God called Mary on a journey that would lead her to deliver the long-awaited Christ Child in Bethlehem. Filled with anticipation, she remained obedient to the divine call He placed in her life. Almost There invites you to experience the awe and wonder of Christmas as Mary did many years ago. May this unique perspective on a familiar story draw your heart closer to the expectation of Christ’s coming and finally the angel’s joyful song of His miraculous arrival.
