Ministry for Families

Looking for Ministry and Volunteer Opportunities that your whole family can participate in?  Do you live in Colorado or the Denver Area?  I've tried listing as many volunteer opportunities in the Arvada, Wheat Ridge, Lakewood, Golden, Denver, Westminster area (or Jefferson County).  Although some are only for adults, I've tried to include as much as I could on training your children to minister to the world.

Habitat for Humanity

Although not a Christian organization, you can come and volunteer at the Wheat Ridge, Denver or Littleton Habitat ReStores and help us raise funds to eradicate poverty housing in your neighborhood and around the world. Volunteers help on the cash register, the dock and the warehouse floor. The three Habitat ReStores are major recyclers of goods and metal and are exciting places to volunteer. Voice of the Martyrs Parachute Project

Voice of the Martyrs Parachute Project

The Voice of the Martyrs has invited our newsletter readers to make parachutes to help Russell in this important ministry ? and they have enthusiastically responded! More than 14,000 parachutes made by American Christians recently left our distribution center headed for Colombia. In total, we?ve already received more than 62,000 parachutes. Some church groups have worked together to make hundreds of parachutes, and some families have sent one or two. Each one provides a critical opportunity to present the gospel to a lost soul.

But there are still many FARC guerrillas who haven?t heard the gospel, and there is still a need for more parachutes. If you?d like a downloadable pattern to make the parachutes, as well as more information about VOM?s work in Colombia and a video of Russell talking about reaching guerrillas for Christ, visit

Babysitting Ministry!

Babysitting for small groups/Bible studies
  • Why is it that older kids and teens help out at Sunday School for free, but not for
    small groups?
  • This would be a GREAT ministry to young moms and dads who can't pay for childcare,
but need to attend Bible Study
  • Find a group you know of, or ask around, and volunteer!!!

Find ways to raise money, then donate!

Find a way to raise money; sell crafts, lemonade and other services.  Then donate the money to your favorite charity or Church!
Start a food drive or clothing drive at your school, neighborhood, or community.

Adults Only

Join the Bone Marrow Registry

Also not for kids, but register for the "Be the Match Marrow Registry" (Formerly National Bone Marrow Registry).  Usually its $100 to register, but many people have donated money to support it, so right now its FREE (although it would be nice to get a financial contribution).  All this means to you is if you are a match for someone and they need your bone marrow, you donate.  You could be saving a life - AND you only give if they need it!
